Position Summary:

Symantec is seeking an Export/Trade Compliance professional with 6-8 years of experience to join the Corporate Legal Services Trade Compliance team in Mountain View, CA. You would support Symantecís exports from the USA, Global Trade Compliance operational activities and projects related to automating business processes.


  • Support Trade Compliance projects
  • Assist with development and maintenance of screening solutions to support Trade Compliance operations.
  • Create, drive completion of and maintain Trade Compliance business requirements documents
  • Develop and carry out testing to implement Trade Compliance solutions and changes
  • Prepare training materials and provide communication and training for our internal customers and stakeholders.
  • Create procedures and help update and maintain existing Internal Control Program documentation.
  • Create reports, flow charts and forms as needed.
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders to resolve operational/transactional issues, which may include Restricted/Denied Party List screening, review order escalations, prepare export shipments
  • Support and conduct Audit activities and procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of and keep up with U.S. Export and Customs Compliance and Foreign Trade regulations affecting the company and our products.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Solid knowledge of US Export Administration Regulations and controls
  • Knowledge of Treasury/OFAC Sanction Regulations and controls
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. Foreign Trade Regulations
  • Knowledge of export regulations of other countries is a plus
  • 4+ years, of working experience in export compliance functions
  • Experience with automated Trade Compliance high volume screening solutions/tools
  • Expertise with Oracle or other ERP systems
  • Expertise with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Experience working, managing and driving multi-functional projects to completion
  • Bachelorís degree required, preferably in international trade, legal studies, economics or a related field

MA/MS preferred
