Protect the interests of the company by overseeing efficient and effective import compliance with US Customs and other government agencies. ACCOUNTABILITIES

DEVELOP HIGH PERFORMING ASSOCIATES AND TEAMS

MAINTAIN EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL BUSINESS PARTNERS

  • Ensures integrity and clarity of information used for business planning and decision making
  • Influences timely and accurate information sharing with and among business partners
  • Advises business partners with well-researched recommendations and solutions

IMPROVE PROCESSES FOR OPTIMAL EFFICIENCY AND INTEGRITY

  • Encourages and supports innovation and process improvement among associates
  • Organizes resources to optimize process efficiency and integrity
  • Develops or re-designs processes to systematically minimize error, increase productivity and reduce expense
  • Assures quality and precision in research and analysis

DIRECT IMPORT COMPLIANCE PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES

  • Drives timely customs entry release and duty reduction programs/processes
  • Interacts with government agencies, agents and vendors
  • Maintains "trusted trader" status with U.S. Customs
  • Develops best practices to ensure Customs compliant program development
  • Drives internal controls to sustain compliance
  • Leads the organization to incorporate compliant processes into planning, and operations

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
  • 7+ years of related professional experience, preferrably associated with retail/consumer brands
  • Comprehensive understanding of internal controls, compliance, ethics, U.S. Customs regulations, other government agency regulations and Custom broker processes
  • Ability to lead and interact effectively with others
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with developing and implementing process improvements

PREFERRED

  • Customs Broker License
  • Retail experience
