This Regional Trade Operations Specialist is part of Facebook’s growing
Global Trade Operations team, which is part of Facebook’s Compliance, Security,
and Investigations (“CSI”) organization. As Trade Operations, we partner closely
with all internal business partners engaged in cross-border trade to enable them
to move fast compliantly and efficiently. This includes Infrastructure,
Facilities, Engineering, R&D teams, Labs, B8, Oculus VR and IT Logistics. In
partnership with Trade Legal, Tax and Finance we educate, enable and empower the
organization by building sustainable trade compliance practices that align to
the needs of the business while also being scalable for a rapidly growing global
footprint.
The Trade Operations team is invested in aligning and operationalizing trade
practices through a combination of training, responsive partnership, deep
subject matter expertise, and excellent customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the day-to-day import/export activities in the LATAM region
including daily interaction with the company’s customs brokers, freight
forwarders and third-party logistics in the LATAM region
- Support operational/transactional requests in coordination with internal
cross-functional partners
- Review and approve documentation for international shipments –
including, but not limited to commercial invoices, packing lists,
export/import license applications, end user statements and other
documentation needed to facilitate shipments
- Execute on strategic projects in close coordination and collaboration
with the global TradeOps team
- Support the Regional TradeOps Manager on import and export
classification reviews
- In partnership with the Regional TradeOps Manager, maintain required
import and export documentation in accordance with relevant laws and
corporate policy
- In coordination with the Regional TradeOps Manager, perform import and
export compliance reviews and post-entry audits
- Serve as the primary trainer by which we execute new hire onboarding for
the TradeOps team in the LATAM region
- In partnership with Regional TradeOps Manager, develop and deliver trade
compliance trainings for and to business teams.
- In coordination with the Regional TradeOps Manager, review compliance
processes in LATAM region to streamline operational procedures and drive
efficiencies
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes in region and update business
teams
- Willingness to do all necessary tasks to get the job done. At Facebook,

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Four+ years in global trade compliance, with emphasis on LATAM
jurisdictions
- Experience with handling imports and exports in accordance with LATAM
government regulations
- Experience with the use of trade management systems (e.g. Oracle GTM,
Amber Road, Agile, One Source) to support trade functions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, collaborative,
cross-functional and global team environment
- Ability to manage operations/projects, self-motivate, and build strong
relationships
- Desire to learn, develop, and grow professionally
- 4-year university degree in business, law, economics, finance or related
discipline
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- post-graduate degree in business, law, economics, finance or related
discipline
- experience at an international trade regulatory authority
- deep operational support of a trade program in the high-tech industry
- customs broker license
- expertise with consumer electronics, high-tech and/or aerospace
- experience with implementation of automated trade solutions and systems
- experience with ticketing systems.
