Duty Drawback & Compliance Manager

Job Description

As a Duty Drawback & Compliance Manager, the primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance in all aspects of an effective U.S. duty drawback program and provide support in key areas of customs valuation, HTS classification and country of origin determinations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, implement and maintain an effective and compliant US duty drawback program
  • Effectively engage and educate business groups and supply chain planning in support of the duty drawback program
  • Actively engage with internal business stakeholders to expand duty drawback opportunities
  • Partner within the Global Trade organization in making compliant HTS and COO decisions on new and emerging technologies
  • Develop and maintain effective internal relationships to enable new business models with compliant trade solutions
  • Support other areas of trade compliance as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors or Master Degree in related field

  • A minimum of five years of duty drawback experience as customs broker, industry trade specialist, US Customs drawback auditor, or import specialist, which includes duty drawback experience and may include experience in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, NAFTA, entry processes
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • U.S. Customs broker's license (preferred)
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience and knowledge in US Customs Code of Federal Regulations Title 19
  • Previous experience in developing and administering an effective Duty Drawback program
  • In-depth regulatory knowledge in Country of Origin, HTS classification and Customs Valuation
  • Ability to recommend and drive decisions while ensuring compliance with customs regulations, rules and policies
  • Ability to lead and work in cross-functional teams across multiple geographies
  • Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic, challenging environment where managing multiple urgent tasks is routine
  • Strong program management skills, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent analytical, datamining and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have strong mindset towards advancing programs using emerging technologies
  • Performs with a high level of accuracy and quality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of SAP
