Import Export Compliance Analyst

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for executing import and export activities including, harmonized tariff classification, trade regulation research, performing import
clearances, maintaining product databases, conducting process assessments and other duties as assigned.

The familiarity with CBP, BIS, FDA, U.S. Census and other government regulations are required. Project management experience is preferred, but not required.

Essential Functions

  • Maintenance of export compliance program (monitor changes in regulations; maintain written policies and procedures)
  • Perform product classification (harmonized tariff and ECCN codes)
  • Implement and maintain product databases
  • Assist with maintenance of record retention program
  • Assist with department metrics
  • Problem resolution that requires interfacing with internal and external customers
  • Perform departmental process audits and restricted party screening
  • Conduct import/export compliance employee training (informed compliance)
  • Assist Import Export Compliance Analyst when required

Qualifications, Requirements, Education

  • Associates Degree in Logistics, Business or related

Licenses/Certifications

  • Job related preferred, but not required

Experience

  • 3-5 years + in import/export compliance

Competencies

  • Highly proficient in Harmonized Tariff Classification. Knowledge with CBP, BIS, and FDA regulations highly preferred
  • Supervision
  • Minimal supervision

Other

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Excellent communication skills.
