Logistics Analyst (3567)

The Logistics Analyst will have primary regional responsibility for coordinating the physical flow of imports from origins to final destination, performing business analysis and maintaining ETA inbound visibility, including managing data quality, resolving data issues with logistics trading partners, training of prospective users, onboarding of new logistics providers, and creating and analyzing reports from ETA. A successful candidate will work closely with our 3PL, Sourcing, Manufacturing Operations, Product Management, and other internal stakeholders, to identify, analyze, and pursue strategic opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate the physical flow of goods, including exception management, re-routing, expediting, and other actions, to meet expected lead times or other customer service requirements.
  • Perform business analyses to help Distribution team set logistics policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of data quality in SAP; identifying data discrepancies (e.g. timeliness, completeness, and accuracy) and collaborate directly with logistics providers to resolve them.
  • Create and analyze data quality reports from logistic partners; collaborate with internal clients and logistics providers, as needed to perform root cause analyses.
  • Map current and future logistics processes; apply reports to measure performance against set processes and KPIs
  • Play active role in identifying and pursuing continuous improvement opportunities
  • Structure analyses to solve problems; will be analytical “horsepower” for the department
  • Derive business conclusions and determine the feasibility of options
  • Will collaborate directly and regularly with various management levels) across functions and regions to identify root causes for process improvement opportunities.
  • Develop presentations to communicate project status for audiences that span functional and management levels
  • Team with regional inbound team, other internal stakeholders, and logistics providers to solve “one-off” problems and/or strategic initiatives
  • Lead logistics projects (be the lead business analyst), as needed, and drive them from conception to completion; other times, will be an active team member of larger initiatives
  • Bring “macro”, strategic thinking, as well as ability to “zoom” down to the process level
  • Perform analyses with a sense of urgency, organization, and strategic business acumen

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, mathematics, finance, accounting, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of international and/or domestic logistics / operational experience – either on the shipper side (apparel, other consumer goods, or retail) or with a service provider (e.g. 3PL, forwarder, carrier, etc.)
  • Strong comfort level with numbers and shipment processes, from origin through destination
  • Expert working knowledge of Excel;
  • Stellar analytical skills, curiosity and problem solving – come up with hypotheses, structuring and performing analyses, translating results into business conclusions, demonstrates creative thinking
  • “What if?” thinker with a track record of identifying, analyzing, and helping teams achieve cost savings and process improvements
  • Must be a quick learner with high “get it” factor
  • Ability to work across various business functions – e.g. Finance, Sourcing, Product Management, Supply Planning, etc. – and with external parties
  • Desire to challenge status quo
  • Sensitivity to, respect for, and ability to team well with individuals from different cultures; Strong working knowledge of foreign cultures, processes, and sensitivities
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; high emotional quotient; demonstrates maturity, professionalism, and poise at all times
  • Self-motivated, has a sense of urgency, takes initiative, does not require “hand-holding”
  • Is willing to travel – estimated 5%


  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in the transportation industry – ocean freight, domestic trucking, rail and courier
  • Exposure to wholesale and direct to consumer business models.
